Company
History
Barrie
Hill started the business in July 1968 operating from two
premises in both Cardiff & Barry selling MG, Rover & Austin
cars. Over the next few years the face of the British car
industry began to change forever. Barrie – supported
by his wife Lynne – decided to alter the direction
of the company & move into the leisure market where
they both had an existing passion for caravanning & the ‘open
road’ lifestyle. Barrie consolidated his two
businesses into one large purpose-built site in the coastal
town
of Barry, in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan, with
a comfortable indoor showroom & an extensive outdoor
display area for stock … and so, in 1974, Barry
Caravan Centre was born.
This focus on leisure has seen
the company expand under Barrie’s chairmanship
during the last almost 40 years to represent the very
best in caravan & motorhome brands.
The key to the success of the
business is the continued drive for customer satisfaction
with the help of a long-standing dedicated team – which
include his two daughters Julie & Jayne, his son-in-law
Huw and warm, hospitable & enthusiastic sales and
preparation staff.
Barrie firmly believes that the
experience of purchasing a Barry Caravan Centre or Castle
Motorhomes vehicle will be a unique & enjoyable one,
backed up by a first class after sales operation to provide
a personal service to all our customers.
